A new set of skills have been created this academic year which reflect those celebrated in the Motivational Awards. These are called OneSchool Skills and are split into five separate skills –
- Academic Achievement
- Fulfilling Potential
- Management skills
This OneSchool Skills document explains the characteristics of each skills and gives examples of how students might demonstrate the skill. Students were introduced to the skills at the start of the year and are becoming more aware of what they are and their importance in the development of their SDL skills.
A new reward system has been introduced across the school to recognise and celebrate achievement of OneSchool Skills with a citation.
Many students have already earned citations and will be given copies to take home. Citations are recorded by the school and students will be awarded a Bronze Award and certificate for achieving three citations in each skill. Similarly they will also achieve a Silver Award for six citations in each skill and Gold Award for nine in each skill. Students have their own skills and achievement log book which they can use to log and monitor their OneSchool Skills.
Towards the end of the academic year citations will be used to help nominate students for the Motivational Awards.
