Mrs Townsend followed up on last year’s England squash debut in Ireland by representing her country in the England Women’s O35 Home Internationals in Nottingham. The team retained their crown as champions. In order to qualify for England selection you are required to play as an individual in open, national and regional tournaments to acquire points to be considered for selection.

Mrs Townsend also played squash for Warwickshire at Senior County Level this April with Warwickshire coming 3rd place in the Premier Division as well as reaching the final of the county closed individual tournament.

Lastly, Mrs Townsend played for Kenilworth Ladies team (above pic) who had an outstanding result and won the National Club Championships this April. She was lucky enough to play in a team with current world number 7 and world number 16. The team have qualified to go onto represent England at the European Club Championships, taking place in Paderborn, Germany in September. They are currently looking for sponsorship to enable them to represent their club and country which would be an amazing opportunity for their club and team.
