A Snapshot of our week 01.03.19

We started our new system with the mini bus drop off and collection this week.

All of the students are using the back playground during break and lunch time.  They have the opportunity to play volleyball, football, basketball and table tennis outside now.  There is also plenty of seating areas for those who are not rushing around.

We welcomed Ms Clare Thompson on Monday morning.  Ms Thompson will be covering for Miss James whilst she is having her treatment.  We also welcomed Mrs Maryam Hussain to the Maths Department.  Mrs Hussain and Mr Tonks will work together to cover all of our Maths lessons.

On Wednesday Matt Collins, our Regional Principal, spent the day with us.  He thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere around the school and is really pleased with what he is seeing currently.

Next Week

Tuesday is our World Book Day.

The business moderator is meeting with Mrs Burns on Tuesday.

We are also hosting the Focus National English Day on Tuesday.

The MFL speaking mocks are taking place on Wednesday.

Parents Evenings are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday is an INSET Day for staff.

Parents’ Evenings

Next week we will be running Parents’ Evenings.

5 March – Raiders Parents Evening

6 March – Troopers Parents Evening

7 March – Warriors Parents Evening.

The pupils in years 3-6 have appointments.

The pupils in years 7-11 have been issued with appointment sheets so that they can make appointments.

As you will be aware, the car parking at school has changed in order to create a better playground for the pupils.  This means that when you come to Parents’ Evening next week you will not be able to drive into the front carpark until after 3.20pm.  If you are arriving before then, please park in the back car park on North Street.

Additionally, on 5 March, the Atherstone Ball game will be taking place (largely at the other end of town). This will mean Long Street is closed so you will need to access school from North Street or Witherly Road.

Kind regards
